Summary

What would it mean to become supernatural? What if you could train your brain to tune in to frequencies beyond our material world 。 。 。 change your brain circuitry and chemistry to access transcendent level of awareness 。 。 。 and transform your very biology to enable profound healing?

This one of the abilities Dr。 Joe Dispenza offers in this revolutionary book: a set of tools that allow ordinary people to reach extraordinary states of being。

Dr。 Joe, author of the New York Times bestseller You Are The Placebo draws on up-to-the-minute research in neuroscience, epigenetics, psychoneuroimmunology, neurocardiology, electromagnetism, and quantum physics to show how human transformation and change takes place and what it can mean for our lives。 In these pages, you'll explore how to free yourself from the past by reconditioning your body to new mind; how to shift your awareness into the quantum field of infinite possibilities; and much more。 Using tools and practices ranging from state-of-the-art brain imaging to exercises such as a walking meditation and a technique to strengthen your immune system by thoughts alone, Dr。 Joe offers nothing less than a program for stepping outside our physical reality and into a new world。

I really enjoyed reading this。 Thoughts and emotions can and will effect our health and happiness。 The first part of solving any problem is recognizing exactly what the problem is。

Audiobook read by Adam Boyce。 Very interesting material。 I think I want to read a few more of his books and dig into this topic a bit in the future。 If you have a meditation practice or are thinking of starting one this is a pretty good place to start to up your game or learn what modern science is discovering about meditation and group meditation。

The best book ever! Love it

I enjoyed the meditation techniques in this book。 Overall it’s a motivational reminder for connecting the mind, body and spirit。 Here it’s referred to as mind, heart/body and energy fields。

Very interesting book but more technical and data based than I was looking for。 That is certainly not a criticism since the data lends a lot of credibility。 This book has opened my mind to the power of the mind over body and our future。 Very intriguing。

This book opened my eyes and mind to the world around me。 Doing the practices discussed by Dr。 Dispenza in this book helped me see how I can put out love into the world around me。 My heart feels so full and I will most likely be returning to this book again throughout my life。 I am so glad I read this book。

I have been reading the other reviews。 Some are very critical of Joe Dispenza, his credentials & his research。 Not for them? If not I will still be able to settle my soul in some small way。 I’ve book-marked the meditations。 Definitely a future re-read。 。。。more

Ugh。。。 I really have nothing against philosophizing about "supernatural" occurrences and about New Age beliefs and all the things connected to them。 I also think we would learn a lot if these things weren't so stigmatized by the scientific community。 However, I have something against people who claim they have found absolute truths; people who will use anything (as absurd and biased as it may be) as evidence to support their world view。 People who use their scientific degrees and authority to ma Ugh。。。 I really have nothing against philosophizing about "supernatural" occurrences and about New Age beliefs and all the things connected to them。 I also think we would learn a lot if these things weren't so stigmatized by the scientific community。 However, I have something against people who claim they have found absolute truths; people who will use anything (as absurd and biased as it may be) as evidence to support their world view。 People who use their scientific degrees and authority to make others believe in that same "truth"。 Even worse, people who make a load of money off of these "truths"。 Unfortunately, Dr。 Joe Dispenza seems to be such a person。 While he does cite some actual science (which is the only interesting part of the book tbh), it is up to the reader to check each individual source for it's reliability because Dispenza never mentions when a source is highly questionable and speculative。 Once he gets his hands on something that reinforces his world-view, he just adds it to his belief system without question。I'm sure he's not a bad person and I'm sure he really believes that his horrendously expensive workshops do help people (heck, they actually might)。 However, I don't like people (esp。 people who claim to have some degree of authority) trying to shove dogmatism down my throat。 I could go to church to get that for free。 。。。more

This is a great book for someone who wants to go deeper into their mindfulness path but is having a tough time believing in some of the more metaphysical aspects of it。 There's a lot of science behind what is shared in this book。 Epigenetics, Neuroplasticity, it's all in there。 You will be given the tools to take your wife wherever you want。 And then, you'll have to do the work。 This a great book to being your journey into the mystical。 Flow: 4/5Actionability: 5/5Mindset: 5/5Some of My Highlight This is a great book for someone who wants to go deeper into their mindfulness path but is having a tough time believing in some of the more metaphysical aspects of it。 There's a lot of science behind what is shared in this book。 Epigenetics, Neuroplasticity, it's all in there。 You will be given the tools to take your wife wherever you want。 And then, you'll have to do the work。 This a great book to being your journey into the mystical。 Flow: 4/5Actionability: 5/5Mindset: 5/5Some of My Highlights:"。。。when we experience for ourselves, or witness in another person, something that we've once believe to be impossible, we are freed in our beliefs to transcend those limitations in our own lives。""As a result, they program their brain and body to be in the predictable future or a familiar past, never living in the present moment。""You can't enter this immaterial place with your problems, your name, your schedules and routines, your pain, or your emotions。 You can't enter as some body - you must enter as no body。""The brain thinks, but the heart knows。"But when the stress doesn't end within hours, the body never returns to balance。 In truth, no organism in nature can endure living in emergency mode for extended periods of time。""Anna was producing the same chemistry in her brain and body as if the event was happening again and again。""As a psychotherapist, she could rationally and intellectually understand what was happening to her, but all her insights couldn't get beyond her suffering。""She also knew through her understanding of epigenetics that the elevated emotions of love, joy, gratitude, inspiration, compassion, and freedom could signal new genes to make healthy proteins affecting her body's structure and function。""When you pay attention to knowledge or information and it makes sense to you, this interaction with the environment leaves biological impressions in your brain。""Think of emotions as the chemical residue from past experiences - or chemical feedback。""Over time, you've created a set of hardwired neurological networks in the brain and you have emotionally conditioned your body to live in the past - and that past becomes your future。""The same chemistry automatically stays switched on because the external threat never seems to go away。""High-range beta is the state you're in when you're jacked up on the hormones of stress。""You display alpha brain waves when you are relaxed, calm, creative, and even intuitive - when you're no longer thinking or analyzing and instead you're daydreaming or imagining, like a trance state。""Theta-frequency brain waves take over in that twilight stage when your mind is still awake but your body is drifting off to sleep。 This frequency is also associated with deep states of meditation。""Gamma-frequency brain waves indicate what I call a superconscious state。""Each time you overcome those automatic habits, your will becomes greater than your program。""One way to increase your chances of a successful meditation is to give yourself enough time so you don't get distracted by trying to rush through the experience。" 。。。more

The Author has successfully repackaged ancient Indian wisdom regarding Yoga, energy, consciousness, chakras etc。, into something palatable to the western audience。 Pertinently, provides scientific grounding for such practices。 An interesting read for those inquisitive about these kind of things。

This book presents the reader with a full spiritual overhaul。 Dispenza's work has the potential to make you see the world in a completely different way with thorough scientific evidence of quantum realities, observable biological field changes, and insight beyond any paradigm I previously held close (woof)。 If you have an open mind, don't wait to read this book! Very insightful and exciting information within the pages of this book。 I found encouragement, enlightenment, and inspiration when I read it。

I did like it and found it useful。 I wish it spent less time trying to prove to me the power of meditation through ‘cases’ of people though, and more time talking about the actual subject of meditation。 I wanted to know more about what the book was talking about。 Makes it feel too ambiguous and not as scientific as it preaches to be。 However, still a beautiful book in many other aspects。

I liked the scientific, noetic-leaning research shared in certain parts of this book but damn, the low key ads throughout made me cringe 😬。 Just include your seminar and materials for sale at the end, littering them throughout makes it sound like I'm listening to a youtube video。 I liked the scientific, noetic-leaning research shared in certain parts of this book but damn, the low key ads throughout made me cringe 😬。 Just include your seminar and materials for sale at the end, littering them throughout makes it sound like I'm listening to a youtube video。 。。。more

Only got a few practical things out of it, the blessing of the energy centers meditation being one。 The rest of the book sounded like a commercial for his workshops。 That said I think the blessing of the energy centers meditation can be quite powerful and helpful。

Fascinating book。 Prior to this I’ve not read much about mysticism。 I’ve meditated on and off for 15 years, consistently and daily for the past 2 years。 I’m sceptical of the claims in this book which I read over a few months so that I could try the various meditations。 I’m yet to achieve the state of “No thing, no one, no where, no time。” but I’m not giving up yet。 I’ve set a goal this year to break my debilitating hip pain via his techniques。 I’ve done the pineal gland meditation daily for almo Fascinating book。 Prior to this I’ve not read much about mysticism。 I’ve meditated on and off for 15 years, consistently and daily for the past 2 years。 I’m sceptical of the claims in this book which I read over a few months so that I could try the various meditations。 I’m yet to achieve the state of “No thing, no one, no where, no time。” but I’m not giving up yet。 I’ve set a goal this year to break my debilitating hip pain via his techniques。 I’ve done the pineal gland meditation daily for almost 3 months, still some work to do。 Once I accomplish this goal I’ll come back and update this review。 。。。more

I have always liked Joe Dispensa’s enthusiasm for his subject matter and love watching him in online interviews。 He is very passionate about relaying the scientific proof behind the mind/body connection。 Plus, I’ve read two previous books of his (a while back) which I enjoyed very much。 So much so, that I was eagerly awaiting “Becoming Supernatural”。 Unfortunately, the wait proved to be a disappointment for me。 Perhaps it was because a lot seemed like a repeat of some of his other material, but I have always liked Joe Dispensa’s enthusiasm for his subject matter and love watching him in online interviews。 He is very passionate about relaying the scientific proof behind the mind/body connection。 Plus, I’ve read two previous books of his (a while back) which I enjoyed very much。 So much so, that I was eagerly awaiting “Becoming Supernatural”。 Unfortunately, the wait proved to be a disappointment for me。 Perhaps it was because a lot seemed like a repeat of some of his other material, but I found myself skimming pages, then abandoning it altogether about the halfway mark -- so my assessment may be premature。 However, the one thing that put me off was the frequent plugging for his workshops and online courses。 (e。g。 “If you purchase my … CD or audio download”) or, ([to alleviate chronic back and leg pain] Ginny’s husband convinced her to attend another one of my advanced seminars in Seattle …)。 Mind you, he does offer a free video series in the back of the book。 On the whole, though, it read more like an infomercial in parts -- merely my opinion。 I still can appreciate the basic concepts offered; I just didn’t like the way they were presented here。 If you are interested in the topics of consciousness, meditation, or mind-body medicine; I would recommend his first, “You are the Placebo” as a good introduction。 。。。more

I am not one to review a book prior to finishing it。。。。but I don't think I'll be finishing this one。 Only 10% into the book and I find myself looking for information。 The book is very dry。。。。it states a woman got cancer and she essentially got rid of cancer by meditating。 The book wants you to read on for more information, so it feels like an infomercial。 The book couldn't hold my attention as I delved further into the pages。 Not worth my time。 I am not one to review a book prior to finishing it。。。。but I don't think I'll be finishing this one。 Only 10% into the book and I find myself looking for information。 The book is very dry。。。。it states a woman got cancer and she essentially got rid of cancer by meditating。 The book wants you to read on for more information, so it feels like an infomercial。 The book couldn't hold my attention as I delved further into the pages。 Not worth my time。 。。。more
